Photos of John (Jens) Ritland
I regret that I do not have any photos of my great grandfather from the time of his service in the Civil War, and I doubt that any still exist. However, I am grateful for these three photos of John Ritland seated with his family.

The photo above was taken in the 1880's or thereabouts, and shows John and Inger with their children. John Ritland is seated second from left with his hands folded on his lap. Clockwise from him are: Osmond (my grandfather), Belle, Olaus, Bennie, Julia, Louise, Inger, and Louis. The names are written on the back of the photo. Click here to view the back of the photo. Bear in mind that names have been flopped in reference to their position in the photo.
